Lend A Hand
Volunteer support
Problem
Around the world, small enterprises, farms, businesses, and industries face failure if they do not adapt to new markets, new opportunities, and new technologies. Those from low-income countries are most vulnerable and least prepared to meet these challenges. Often they must make rapid changes and navigate completely unfamiliar areas to survive. The challenge can be overwhelming, threatening jobs, livelihoods, food security, and the economic base of local communities.
The Gift
Your gift will support the work of a volunteer, providing the logistical or material support they need to offer training and technical assistance to a wide variety of organizations and enterprises. U.S. volunteers donate their time and travel worldwide on short-term assignments to lend their professional expertise to those who need it most. In Latin America, your gift will support volunteers working to develop the fruits and vegetables industry for improved family nutrition and income. In Central Asia, your gift will support volunteers who assist livestock operations and the food processing industry. Across Asia, your gift will support volunteers who work with local farmers to introduce organic agricultural production as a way to meet market demand and increase sales.
