Host Group Support
One group session
Too old for the instant community of a children’s hospital, young adults are too young to fit into the over-60 community that overwhelmingly populates adult cancer wards. Because young adults are a relatively small group whose care is fragmented between pediatric and adult care, the difficulty of finding peer support is increased exponentially. Many are forced to deal in isolation with issues specific to their age and stage of life.
Your gift will help us find and bring together young adults to provide each other with critical peer support, independent of their hospital, oncology practice or individual diagnosis. In a safe environment, they will be able to share experiences, thoughts and fears, and make connections to sustain them and help them move on with their lives, in or out of treatment.
