Relief International (RI) is a humanitarian nonprofit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide. RI is solely dedicated to reducing human suffering and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission.
RI provides emergency relief, rehabilitation and development assistance to victims of natural disasters and civil conflicts worldwide. RI’s programs bridge the gap between immediate and long-term community development, promoting self-reliance and peaceful reintegration of populations. RI’s programs target women and children, whose special needs are often neglected in disasters.
Relief International provides emergency, rehabilitation and development services that empower beneficiaries in the process. RI’s programs include health, shelter reconstruction, education, community development, agriculture, food, income-generation, and conflict resolution. RI employs an innovative approach to program design and a high quality of implementation performance in demonstrating deep and lasting impact in reducing human suffering worldwide.
RI focuses on serving people who typically have not received due attention, and in several large-scale crisis RI has been the first US-based agency to provide high-impact development emergency programming to communities in need. RI believes that as a humanitarian agency one if its main functions is to communicate the pronounced needs of the vulnerable to the international community. RI thus consults closely with the local communities it serves to ensure that its programs do no impose solutions from the outside but rather address their needs for the long term.

School year in Darfur
Relief International's solution to the crisis in Darfur emphasizes women's development in particular. School empowers girls in Darfur by increasing their economic and leadership status, improving their health and reducing their risk for poverty and physical harm. $15 provides tuition and school supplies for one girl, between the ages of 7-15, to attend one year of basic schooling.
