Lung cancer research

Memorial Sloan-Kettering researchers are evaluating new drugs for lung cancer, including getifinib (Iressa). First tested at MSKCC, getitinib is one of a new class of drugs known as signal transduction inhibitors, which work by blocking the signal that make cancer cells grow and spread.

Colorectal cancer

Your gift will enable Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to continue to be on the forefront of research into new colorectal chemotherapy drugs. Memorial Sloan-Kettering helped establish the efficacy of irinotecan, the first new drug for colorectal cancer in 40 years. In some patients, irinotecan has been found to shrink metastatic tumors when other treatments have failed.
