Millions of incandescent light bulbs used throughout America are cheap but inefficient. Changing all those light bulbs to compact fluorescent technology would drastically reduce our use of fossil fuels and foreign energy sources to power our homes. SAHF’s Members house over 70,000 families, and that number is growing continually. Giving those families compact fluorescents in their apartments and common spaces would significantly reduce electricity use and energy bills.

The Gift

It’s simple: When we leverage your donation and buy in bulk, $10 is enough to pay for and install four compact fluorescent light bulbs, which makes a significant impact. Taken together, small donations will install this technology throughout thousands of apartment buildings, including common areas and workspaces, drastically reducing energy usage by making everyday lighting cleaner and greener. And by purchasing these light bulbs you encourage development of even newer and better green technology for everyday applications.
