Music for 20 children
Problem
With the drastic reduction of Project Arts funding in New York City schools, most children in the public school system no longer have a single art or music class in their weekly, let alone daily schedule. Sing for Hope’s “artist peace corps” is uniquely qualified to help fill this void, both in terms of the high-quality programming that we provide and our cost-effective approach.
The Gift
This gift will provide funding for 1 professional artist from Sing for Hope's roster to share their time and talent with 20 at-risk students. The artist will perform selections tailored to the students' needs and interests and will lead a question and answer session. The artist visit is a highlight of Sing for Hope's Informance Arts program. This program currently serves 8 partner campuses in semester-long residencies, maintaining our commitment to providing continuous, high-quality arts and leadership education.
