Problem

The 21st century is a digital age, where technology saturates our lives. Although computer skills are prerequisites for most employment opportunities, there are still impoverished urban communities lacking even minimal exposure to computers. Third graders in low-income communities are three grade levels behind their peers in high-income communities and of this population, half will not graduate. Intervening to make the educational experience more fulfilling can positively influence a student’s decision to stay in school.
