Problem

Many women in Guatemala and Mexico are without access to poverty alleviating credit. NamasteDirect focuses on providing capital for first-time loans to poor, rural women in Guatemala and Mexico who take the initiative to start or improve upon a business enterprise but, would not have access to credit otherwise.

The Gift

Just $250 can change the life of a woman and her family in Guatemala or Mexico. Your gift will fund the micro-loan of a woman in either rural Guatemala or Chiapas, Mexico. This loan will be re-paid with interest monthly to the local organization, which will support the women through the loan cycle and help them to be successful in developing their businesses. Educational seminars on business management, health and other pertinent subjects will be offered to borrowers at their meetings. You or the recipient of this gift will hear of the borrower's success through written reports created by NamasteDirect fellows. NamasteDirect delivers the highest percentage of unrestricted donations into the hands of beneficiaries of any U.S. international donor organization. A minimum of 70 percent of unrestricted donations to NamasteDirect go directly to the beneficiaries--Central American women who receive loans in their local currency. The loan funds are recycled over and over again in the local community, so your original gift keeps on giving!
