Surgery for a Pony
From India's Streets
Problem
Ponies are commonly used in India to pull carts and give “joy-rides” to tourists. Often, these weak, emaciated animals are whipped into working while wounds and diseases are neglected. There is very little veterinary care available to treat these poor horses’ injuries and illnesses.
The Gift
Your gift will provide veterinary care to one horse who would otherwise be left to suffer and die an early and often painful death. Each month, IDA India provides nearly 200 treatments for Mumbai’s horses, from dressing wounds and setting sprains to treating laminitis.
