Feed Orphan Chimps
Three days of bananas
Problem
Endangered chimpanzees and gorillas are struggling for survival. Mother chimpanzees are killed for the illegal bushmeat trade, and orphaned babies are left behind, often sold into captivity. Poaching and habitat destruction are pushing the remaining wild great apes toward extinction. IDA-Africa provides sanctuary for 64 chimpanzee orphans, enforces laws against killing great apes, and runs and extensive media camp to change attitudes and behaviors.
The Gift
This gift will provide three days worth of bananas for the chimpanzees at Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center. All fruit is purchased from local villages, creating an economy where none had existed before. Orphaned chimpanzees at Sanaga-Yong Center require life-long care and protection. Your gift will make a real difference.
