Pair of llamas + sheep
Problem
You might not think about it each time you see a sheep or llama, but wool is one of the most precious of natural materials. In many parts of Central and South America, especially in mountainous regions where the driving winds can be brutal, woolen hats, sweaters, ponchos and scarves keep the cold out...and a warm feeling safe inside.
The Gift
Your donation will provide one breeding pair of llamas and one breeding pair of sheep for a family in Central or South America. The amount of wool these hardy animals can produce is just amazing, and in capable hands, it becomes almost liek currency--woolen yarn, fabric and clothing to be taken to market, which helps to pay for food, medicine, schooling for children, and so much more. And, as the sheep and llamas each breed and give birth, the family's economic prospects become better still, as do the conditions in the village through the passing on of offspring.
