Educate the Public
300 brochures
Problem
Wild animal trafficking is the third greatest illegal activity in the world, behind weapons and drugs. The trade of wild fauna causes the poaching of 38 million animals every year. Society is unaware of the cruelty of this traffic and its environmental, sanitary, legal and economic consequences: loss of biodiversity, loss of ecological equilibrium, spread of diseases, and social degradation. Fighting this illegal trade requires education, involvement and collaboration of different sectors of society.
The Gift
Your donation will fund 300 informative brochures to be distributed in roadways, zoos, malls and other public places, to educate people so that they won't keep wild animals as pets and to help them learn the damages wildlife traffic causes to the environment and society. The donations will be used to produce a materials for 12 Renctas campaigns during one year. Your donation will help Renctas to print around 300 pieces of graphic material. This campaign includes the development of an exposition, media divulgation and distribution of the informative material. The 2007 campaigns will be executed in places used by the traffic (roadways and airports) and places of great human concentration, in order to touch the population. With this gift, you will contribute to make the campaign happen in three international airports, three roadways very used by dealers, in three zoos and malls in big Brazilian capitals.
