Month of studio space
The Archie Bray Foundation was the first artist residency program in the United States devoted solely to ceramic art. Although there now are many other programs that offer ceramic residencies, the Bray is the only one that extends for up to two years. This period of time, dedicated to exploring new ideas and techniques, has been pivotal in the careers of leading ceramic artists for nearly sixty years and continues to offer a sanctuary of promise for emerging artists.
The Bray is committed to maintaining the quality of the resident experience and in 2005 opened a new 12,000 square-foot state of the art studio complex with ten individual studios, kiln facilities, and special spaces for mold making and glazing. Making an individual studio available for each resident artist free of charge provides an “empty canvas” that allows ceramic artists the space to think, explore and create. Your gift will ensure that one resident has that essential studio space for one month.
