Diarrheal diseases are a leading cause of early childhood mortality in developing countries. An estimated 2.2 million children die from dehydration due to diarrheal diseases every year. A simple solution of sugar, salt and water can prevent nearly 90% of child deaths from diarrhea. Oral Rehydration Salts are premade packets that, when mixed with water, can be the difference between life and death for an ill child.
