Rebuild Wells
One well in Pakistan
Problem
The earthquake that struck Pakistan in October last year left 80,000 people dead and made refugees of countless others overnight. Another facet of this disaster is the destruction of numerous wells that once provided water for drinking, agriculture and sanitation.
The Gift
This gift contributes to our efforts to rehabilitate wells that had been destroyed in the earthquake of October 2005. Action Against Hunger has been working in the areas affected by the earthquake since 2001. From the start of this year, we have been focusing on rehabilitating and building the infrastructure required in the affected regions needed to provide food and water security, including rehabilitating water systems and providing agricultural assistance.
