Overview

International Interns is a Christian organization whose primary focus is Church Planting and Leadership Training in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

By training leaders to spread the gospel to we empower Nationals to bring God's Love to the unreached.

International Interns also helps to address compassion ministry needs around the world. We coordinate resources that address the physical needs as well as spiritual needs. Currently we are working in both Myanmar and China to address the needs of those affected by the latest disasters.

Our goal is to plant "Communities of Hope", where both physical and spiritual needs are met. We rely on donors like you to support our initiatives. Please contact us for more information on how you can become involved!

Mission

International Interns' compelling mission is to "Declare God's Glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among the peoples", thereby winning otherwise eternally lost souls to Jesus Christ.

History

International Interns was founded in 1985 by Rev. Walt Shearer as a non-profit Mission Agency committed to fulfilling the "Great Commission."

Program

International Interns offers five core programs that help fulfill the "Great Commission." International Interns' guiding principle is the Biblical concept of the "3-stranded cord", which links American and foreign national churches to form a powerful partnering network to fulfill its Spirit directed Missions Plan.

CHURCH PLANTING
International Interns' goal is to plant God-reliant churches where He is at work. One way this is accomplished is by sending out trained short-term teams from partnering churches to work along side existing national believers in strategic outreach campaigns. Summer missionaries engage in adult and youth camps, children's ministry, Bible studies, and evangelistic evening services. In addition, key leaders-in-training are encouraged to plant their own churches as part of a study curriculum offered by International Interns.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Another aspect of International Interns' work is the in-depth training given to selected men-of-potential through the Leadership Development Institute. This program seeks to educate and equip future pastors-to-be to shepherd their new flocks in the many churches planted as a result of God's great harvest of souls. Church, regional, national, and advanced levels of training are available to ensure the highest quality of discipleship growth for all national believers.

GLOBAL EMPOWERMENT MINISTRIES
A third facet of International Interns' service is Global Empowerment Ministries, which assists in the development of family-based business enterprises that enable national believers to support their own present and future ministries. Challenged with living in distressed economic conditions but given an opportunity to produce reliable incomes, believers are taught Biblical principles of stewardship and generosity, so as to give wisely to the support of their own churches and ministries.

COMPASSION MINISTRY
In response to the many natural disasters and human emergencies faced by so many around the world, International Interns seeks to be a channel of the resources donated to provide relief and renewal from this suffering as part of its Compassion Ministry.

MINISTRY OF PRAYER
The foundational dimension to all of International Interns' work is the Ministry of Prayer. International Interns mobilizes prayer networks through the avenues of phone calls, mail, e-mail, and Web site interaction, for the sake of International Interns' various ministries and for intercession on behalf of it's donors' expressed needs.

Impact

God had been opening great opportunities in Moldova. International Interns' President Walt Shearer and other key players in Development and Global Empowerment Ministries (GEM) returned recently from a blessed trip. The group connected with local Christian businessmen in Moldova to find ways to fund churches and missionaries through business projects. Additionally, they led a successful Reunion Retreat for Moldovan Leadership Development Institute Graduates, a Stewardship Training class for Moldovan pastors and church leaders, and explored the possibility of an irrigation system for our Gagauz Farm Project. Pray that progress will be made on possible business opportunities for several national church planters and youth leaders.

In Turkey, International Interns has sent the first of three missionary teams to bring the message of God's Love to a predominantly Muslim society.

We are currently working with an orphanage, teen girls home (rescued sex-trade workers) and bible school in Myanmar in the wake of the devastating cyclone and as well in China, following the recent earthquake. Bringing the gift of Hope to many through aid made possible by donors like you.

Goals

International Interns desires to plant "Communities of Hope" in areas where the message of Christ's Love and forgiveness are not prevalent.

-We seek to send three missionary families to the Turk World to minister to Muslims
-We seek to promote job training in areas of Moldova that have high unemployment
-We seek to train leaders that will plant churches in areas of Eastern and Central Europe to bring the good news to the unreached.
-We seek to help those affected by the natural disasters in Myanmar and China.
