Ignorance and fear breeds a lack of respect and conflict between young people in Western and Muslim communities. Through "Building Respect through Internet Dialogue and Global Education (BRIDGE)," iEARN is breaking down walls and building bonds of understanding, respect and friendship by enabling young people to work directly with each other—experiencing each other’s culture and perspective in collaborative project work in classrooms throughout the US, Middle East and Asia.

The Gift

Students throughout the world are eager to know more about each other's cultures to do their part to build understanding and peace, and at the same time become global citizens. The Internet now lets students work together on educational projects as part of a teacher's classroom activities. Your gift of $75 provides one month's Internet service and enables a school in Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, United Arab Emirates or Morocco to dialogue online with US students via the internet on art, music, faith, conflict resolution, cultural heroes and contemporary affairs. By learning WITH each other, instead of reading ABOUT each other in often inflamatory media accounts, students can help build more tolerance and respect on a level impossible by governments. Students believe that such "citizen diplomacy" is the only way to lasting peace and understanding.
