See Our GiftsOverview
East Atlanta Kids Club is a nonprofit after-school mentoring and enrichment program for youth ages 7 to 17.
Mission
Our mission is building a promising future for the children of southeast Atlanta.
Kids Club’s overarching goal is that the youth in our program will regularly engage in healthy and stimulating educational, recreational and social activities that will help them to develop their bodies, minds and spirits.
History
East Atlanta Kids Club started 10 years ago in response to gentrification in a local neighborhood. A grassroots effort developed to give under-resourced kids a free, positive and active place to go after-school and on Saturdays. Kids choose to come to Kids Club because they enjoy their experience with us. Many of our kids have been with us for several years. After high school, our kids go on to college and trade schools, knowing that they have the skills to build a positive life for themselves. Now in our 11th year, we serve more than 100 kids a year with the support of more than 150 volunteers.

CEO
Jill Sieder started the East Atlanta Kids Club in 1998 with other neighborhood residents. She has led its growth from a small, all-volunteer group serving a dozen kids to a nonprofit organization with a paid staff, an expanding board of directors and a growing volunteer corps (150 in 2008) serving more than 100 children a year. Sieder splits her time between program and administrative duties for EAKC. She has received both the Service Entrepreneur Award and the Community Service Award from Hands On Atlanta. In 2002, President George W. Bush and the USA Freedom Corps honored her for outstanding community service. In 2004, she was chosen as a “Woman of Distinction” by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and named by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the state’s “40 Under 40” outstanding citizens. Sieder grew up in Atlanta, attended Chamblee High School and Yale University, where she received a B.A. in English Literature, and played varsity soccer. Also an award-winning freelance journalist for the past 20 years, her original claim to fame came at age 8, when she was the first girl in metro Atlanta to register for Little League baseball.
