Power Hour
A safe place to learn
Problem
More than 14 million school age children are on their own after the school day ends. These children and teenagers need access to a safe, structured and affordable place to go afterschool and during the summer. Teens who are unsupervised after the school day ends are nearly three times more likely to skip classes than teens who do participate and are more likely to use marijuana or other drugs, drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes.
The Gift
It just takes ONE donor to make a difference; One day in the life of a child can make a huge impact on the future of a child. One caring adult can create an unbreakable bond with a vulnerable child that will last that child a lifetime. One Boys & Girls Club can offer hope to a neighborhood or community. One gift from you can open the door to a brighter tomorrow for more our children. A donation of $50 will help support the POWER HOUR homework program for over 150 children that attend the Boys & Girls Club of Sierra Vista everyday afterschool. Your donation directly impacts our ability to serve the youth. We can’t do what we do without you!
